Dress Your Home Up With DIY Painting Techniques

Some of the simplest, and least expensive home DIY projects involve paint. As we have all seen time and time again, a fresh coat of wall paint is one of the first things estate agents, and home improvement professionals will want before putting a house on the market. And why? Because they all know what a profound impact paint can have on the overall appearance of a house. So, if you are looking for a way to spruce your home up, are willing to put some time, effort, and potentially very little money into it, then go with a paint project. If you are feeling inspired, or creative then look into doing something less expected with the paint.

One way to bring oomph to an accent wall is do a pattern referred to as caning. First the entire wall the colour you would like for the lines to be. Allow to completely dry and follow by attaching two inch painter’s tape in a grid formation. Over that stick the tape on in a design of horizontal and vertical stripes three inches apart. With the tape still in place paint the additional colour you have selected to cover the majority of the wall. In our experience we have found that two different shades of the same colour works best here.
